Quick look; photo shoot with Clare Catherine Kelly www.cargocollective.com/clarecatherinekelly
Yesterday, I visited designer maker Kirsty Whitlock to do a photoshoot. It was wonderful to photograph Kirsty’s work which makes use of things we normally throw away (Kirsty’s family are told to look out for items like magpies!) and also features a lot of type – both handwritten and printed.
Capturing her work was a real joy and I wanted to show each thread which is why a macro lens is so useful! Working with other creatives is one of the best things about my job and I was particulalry inspired by Kirsty’s nostalgic work; collecting little pieces of history, whether from a shopping list found in an old coat or a train ticket which tells of a long journey indeed.
